Return a time series of events affecting each requested coordinate, keyed by event ID with a summary at each time. Use those IDs with Event Detail to retrieve geometries and the full forecast.
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| coordinates Required | string (lat,lon;...) | Latitude, longitude pairs separated by semicolons, for example 37,-121;40.3,-100. Results preserve the input order. Range: latitude −90° to 90°, longitude −180° to 180°; Max: 10 pairs |
| initialization_time Optional | string (ISO 8601, YYYYMMDDHH, or latest) | The initialization time for the forecast. Default: latest run with all four event products complete |
| min_forecast_time Optional | string (ISO 8601) | Earliest valid time to include in the response. Default: forecast_zero |
| max_forecast_time Optional | string (ISO 8601) | Latest valid time to include in the response. Default: forecast_zero + 360 hours |
| event_type Optional | string | Type of weather event. The front type includes cold, warm, stationary, and occluded fronts. Omit to include all supported types. Allowed: atmospheric_river, heatwave, coldwave, front |
Atmospheric rivers, heatwaves, and coldwaves are included when the requested point lies within their polygon extent at that forecast hour.
A front affects a coordinate when its tracked boundary sweeps across that point between consecutive forecast hours. A crossing between FH0 and FH3 includes the front in both rows, with each hour's own summary and classifications.
The response is JSON. All timestamps are ISO 8601 UTC.
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| model | string | Model whose forecast output was used. |
| initialization_time | string (ISO 8601) | The forecast initialization time. |
| forecast_zero | string (ISO 8601) | Valid time of forecast hour 0. It can differ from initialization_time. |
| events | object[][] | One array per requested coordinate, in request order. Each contains rows ordered by time: events[coordinate_index][time_index]. |
| [coordinate_index] | object[] | Forecast-time rows for one requested coordinate. |
| [time_index] | object | One row at a forecast time, ordered chronologically. |
| latitude | number | Requested latitude. Unit: degrees |
| longitude | number | Requested longitude. Unit: degrees |
| time | string (ISO 8601) | Forecast time represented by this row. |
| events | object | Keyed by event_id. Includes polygon events containing the coordinate and fronts whose swept area crosses it during an adjacent forecast interval. |
| [event_id] | object | One matching event, keyed by its public ID. |
| event_type | string | Type of weather event. Allowed: atmospheric_river, heatwave, coldwave, front |
| forecast_hour | integer | Hours from forecast_zero to this record's valid_time. Unit: hours |
| valid_time | string (ISO 8601) | Time of the atmospheric-river footprint or front boundary, or start of a heatwave or coldwave UTC map interval. |
| period_end | string (ISO 8601) | Exclusive end of a heatwave or coldwave map interval; three hours after valid_time by default. Omitted for atmospheric rivers and fronts. |
| summary | object | Overall geometry's summary for this forecast hour. Polygon events include severity, centers, area, and intensity metrics; fronts include classifications and length_km. Matches properties.summary on the overall geometry in Event Detail. |
Each returned summary describes the entire event at that forecast hour, not conditions at the requested coordinate.
